Take A Look At Louisville International Airport

Louisville International Airport changed to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport in 2019, in honor of his memory. This international airport is also one of the UPS’ Worldport Global Air-Cargo hubs. Louisville offers a host of sightseeing locations and attractions and is also among the most important cargo and shipping locations in the U.S.

When flying out of or into Louisville International Airport, the security of the airport follows rules and regulations implemented by the DOT (Department of Transportation) and the TSA (Transpiration Security Administration). These rules prohibit liquids and sharp objects in carry-on baggage for all international and domestic flights. Most items, except explosive or flammable items, are permitted in checked luggage.

The airport advises that passengers arrive at least 1 and half hours before their flights and even earlier for international flights.

As with any other international airport, Louisville International Airport requires that passengers produce the correct form of identification.

This documentation is required before passengers are permitted to board their flights. The documentation required for international flights usually differs from the ones required for a domestic flight. Depending on which airline the passengers are traveling with and the destination they are going to, other forms of documentation such as birth certificates, visas, passports, or “certificate of citizenship” may be required.

There are several options available for parking at Louisville International Airport. There are many long-term parking lots available for those flying to international destinations. There are also a variety of short-term parking lots to choose from for domestic flights. To pay for parking at the Louisville International Airport, checks, most credit cards, and cash is accepted. The short-term parking lots are also used by visitors that are dropping off passengers at the airport.

Louisville Muhammed Ali International Airport offers a variety of convenient ways for passengers to check in. These include checking in online or using the airline check-in desks and self-service kiosks at the airport.

For online check-ins, mosts of the airlines allow passengers to check in on their respective websites 24-hours before departure. Passengers can then either print their boarding passes out, or email the pass to themselves where they will be scanned in through their smartphones at the boarding gate.

For those that check-in online, the baggage check-in automated process is one of the best options. There are also SDF representatives available at the check-in desks, to help passengers check their baggage in.
